The Sweeter Smith

"You were like Christmas morning..."

- Mr Smith's first impression of Mrs Smith

**************************
5 simple words...is all it takes to evoke so much thoughts and feelings. Comparing Christmas morning to meeting someone for the first time...beee-yooo-teee-fuull. Sentimental is what I felt for a while when I heard it..."aaaaaahhhhhh...'', is what I gotta say.

As expected, Brad and Jolie did steam up the screen. She's gorgeous, he's a babe. Other than that, do not expect anything more from it. Thought the John Woo-like action sequences towards the ending were somewhat lame but what the heck?!...that's not the reason why we all catch the movie.

Lies & Add Ons...

Why do we lie?

We tell lies because we're afraid... afraid of what we do not know, afraid of what others think, afraid of what will be found out about us. But everytime we tell a lie, the thing we fear grows stronger...

In all honesty...we live in a culture of lies. At times, the truth seems so alien to us. When we were kids, life seemed so much simpler. Poker faced and bad at bluffing, we had no inhibitions.
Nothing to hide, nothing to lose, nothing to fear, nothing to save our sorry ASSes from. What happened to us along the way?

I'm no angel. I'm only human. Flesh and blood. I lie. You lie. We all lie. Who doesn't?! Takes less persuasion to commit a lie than owing up to one. Whether it is for our own selfish reasons...or for the usual 'selfless' classic rationale - ''I lied to protect my loved ones from hurt". Half the time we find ourselves trying to cover whatever lies we concoct, we fabricate. Like a wound that needs to be exposed. Concealing with a band-aid won't make it better, it'll only worsen and in the end what do we get? Pus.

All the world religions teach that lying, for the most part, is bad and the general exception is when a lie serves the greater good, as when those who sheltered Jews during the Holocaust lied about it. (http://www.religionlink.org/tip_040412c.php)

Guess we are self proclaimed do-gooders then... and I stand guilty.

Ignorance is bliss....as long as you never gain knowledge.
What you don't know won't hurt you...as long as you never find out.

Tuesday Night Inner Dialogue

Why do we risk everything, if we stand to gain nothing but pain and memories to haunt us?
Why is it that we hope, if it is indeed not meant to be?
Why is it confounded out of hand, if it is written in the stars and in our hearts?
Why can't we help from falling, if we know there is no future to grasp?
Why are we amazed with the degree of love one can have for us, if we ourselves are capable to love with the same or comparable intensity?

You can't help who you love, you're not supposed to. The heart decides who it loves and who it doesn't. You can't tell your heart what to do. It does it on it's own, when you least suspect it or when you don't want it to.

Anyone who can touch you, can hurt you or heal you.
Anyone who can reach you, can love you or leave you.

Sometimes the most important things are the hardest to say. These are the things we get ashamed of because words diminish them, words shrink things that seem timeless when they were in our head to no more than living size when they are brought out - Stephen King

But then again, the best feelings are those that have no words to describe them...

Constant Craving for 90% Wheat Cereal

Confession time.

I have an addiction for Jacob's Cream Crackers. Can have it and nothing else for breakfast, lunch AND dinner. Had two for breakfast to day and while writing this blog, I am into my 7 1/2 helping of the day. Sometimes, when I've had a heavy lunch and don't feel like pigging out for dinner...I will feast on a plate...dipping each piece into a cup of hot milo. But one has to master the skill in dipping to enjoy a cracker to its very core. The key is to not wait for the cracker to get all 'lembik' and break in the process when you submerge it but allowing enough absorption for it to be just slightly off soft but still retaining it's crispiness.

There have been instances after dinner, where my eyes will catch sight of the cracker tin while wiping or washing the dishes. I won't be able to help myself and end up succumbing to a piece, even 1/2 a piece will do to satisfy, to seal my meal. Hhmm, should I be getting worried? Even my dad who's never to question my consumption of food (as I don't eat unneccesarily) has started asking about my fetish for crackers.

Call me an addict to crackers, but there's simply something about the freshness, the smell of the crackers when I open the lid that exudes into my nostrils and sends a signal to the brain, making me long for it and wanting to take a bite. Basically, I'm not a food person. I think we should 'Eat to Live' not 'Live to Eat' but when it comes to my favourites (especially pasta), I'm all about indulging and savouring...and pampering my tastebuds. Guess this is an example of when we make an exception in life, for the things we just can't get enough of.

What can I say?! I AM weird in some ways and a few I know would agree with me. But this is how we are unique, it is our individuality, it makes us extraordinary. It grants us the priviledge to set ourselves apart from another, other than the inherent, most apparent universal fact - our thumbprints. Our idiosyncrasies are our own. They make us distinct, make us special...There's a freak in all of us...whether we are aware of it or not.

P/S Foolish as it sounds but does overeating crackers contribute to weight gain?

True Love

The Olive Tree by Anon

Many years ago, when the sun burned orange all day and the night was wet with the smell of green moss and summer, two young Spanish lovers met in a little fishing village. Each day they would walk, barefoot along the great winding dust road. They would sit beneath the old olive tree and talk and laugh and warm their faces in the sun.

It was beneath this olive tree that Pedro first kissed Esmiralda. They shared their dreams with each other - Esmiralda wanted to study art in Italy and one day become a famous artist. Pedro spoke of becoming the wealthiest man in Spain. But they were young. And when the time came for Esmiralda to go off and study, she refused to leave. Her love had grown so strong, she told Pedro, that she feared leaving him for even one moment would surely destroy her. They held each other beneath the olive tree and they wept.

The next day, Esmiralda waited for Pedro on the hill above the dirt road but he never came. Nor did he come the next day, or the day after that. Esmiralda was heartbroken. Although she searched for Pedro for many days, she never found him. She wrote to him but he never replied.

Devastated, she left for Italy. Esmiralda studied for several years and became a sculptor. She sculpted many fine pieces but her most cherished creation was a replica of the old olive tree she knew as a girl. She eventually became famous and at her first big international exhibition, the olive tree was sold for a large sum of money. The design was so special that many art collectors wanted Esmiralda to create olive trees for their own collections. But she never sculpted another one. It was a one-off, she said.

Forty years passed and Esmiralda retired a wealthy and successful artist. She married and had many children and lived in a beautiful house. Sometimes, she would think back to those warm afternoons under the olive tree, and from time to time, she would wonder.

Then one day, she received a letter. It was from the attorneys of Pedro Bandidas saying he had passed away. In his will, he had stipulated that his entire estate would be left to her. Attached was a short letter that read:

"To my dear Esmiralda, I became what I always dreamed I would be. I am a man of great wealth, perhaps even the richest man in Spain. My fortune is greater than any man could ever dream of and I leave it all to you - my one and only true love."

So Esmiralda made the trip to Spain. She travelled to the little fishing village and walked barefoot along the great winding dust road. She sat beneath the old olive tree and turned her face to the sun. And she drank in the air. Afterwards, she got a driver to take her to the address she had been given. Before her stood a beautiful mansion. She entered and, finding the palatial home full of Persian carpets and ornate paintings and gold trimmings, she felt her heart break for the second time.

Esmiralda was greeted by a man who told her, "I am the brother of Pedro. I am sorry if you have made this long journey in search of wealth. "My brother was a foolish man and you have obviously been led astray. He did not own this opulent home - I do. He was a poor man, he had no money. He sold what little possessions he had many years ago and all he had to show for it were the contents of this box." And he showed her to a tall cardboard box sitting in the corner of the room gathering dust. "But he said in his letter that he was a man with great wealth," Esmiralda whispered to no one in particular.

She opened the box and found a note inside. It read:

"To my dear Esmiralda,
To experience true love - whether it is long-lasting or just for a fleeting moment - is to find eternal wealth."

And it was signed: "The world's richest man."

The note was attached to a sculpted olive tree that had once belonged to a poor Spanish man who had sold off all his worldly possessions to buy it more than 40 years before .

Read this short story when I was still in high school, was published in one of the earlier Cleo editions. Touched my heart and until today, I have always remembered what Pedro said and fated as it seems I chanced upon it again. Hope it gives you a nice 'aaaaaahhhhhh', a warm fuzzy feeling like it did for me, many years ago when I read it and even after a few minutes ago.

What would you do?

Some might be familiar with my asking of scenario questions, one time or another when I feel like it, during coffee sessions or get togethers. Always eager to hear thoughts and opinions of others. Sometimes surprising discoveries and revelations do result from it which can be quite interesting and eye-opening.

For those of you who've had a dose of my Q & A sessions, you will be aware that I've been asking this particular scenario question the past week - only applicable to males though.

"You have just received news that your ex is to be married soon and you know she is the woman you were destined to be with. You were together but somehow due to unforeseen circumstances, both of you went your separate ways and led different lives but now you realise, now you know that if you both were intertwined, to be as one again, this time you'll love much better and this time it will never end."

Question: Would you stop her from walking down the aisle? Or...would you hold your silence?

What I Want...

Here's a less gender bias viewpoint, in continuance to my previous posting of 'A Woman's Worth'.

WHAT I WANT...
Please don't tiptoe around my feelings - I've already chased my own demons and conquered them or I wouldn't be here with you.

Patience - don't push for a commitment I'm either unwilling to give or can't give to you at this point in time If I don't feel I've lived my own life - I can't be expected to share it with another until I'm ready.I am not here to make you happy - if you're depending on me for your happiness, this relationship is doomed to fail. It's not my responsibility to make you feel anything - your feelings and emotions are solely your own. I will, however, be glad if you "feel" happy in my company. As I feel in yours.

Be honest with me - my life has already been so full of negatives that I appreciate the positives - and honesty is one of them. Allow me to be your friend - don't shut me out when trouble comes your way. I have a mind and ideas that may be useful - let me try to help.

Be MY friend - listen to what I say - give me some feedback to show you're listening to me - hug me when I'm down - kiss me when I hurt - hold me when I cry; be there holding my hand if I'm silent. It's sometimes just enough to know you care - and I'll do the same for you. We're here together through a mutual attraction - we have common interests and goals - and have probably been through great emotional upheaval in our lives.

DON'T compare me to the past; it will only hurt you in the long run when you turn around and I'm gone. I have no time for living in the past - I only want to live each day and move forward. That doesn't mean we can't discuss it - it simply means we won't *live* in it. I can't allow that for myself; and I hope you won't allow it for yourself and the sake of our relationship; wherever it may lead.

DON'T be afraid of us and what we may be feeling- recognize the fact that we like each other's company. Don't start analyzing, or the relationship will end before it begins. You deserve some happiness: don't sell yourself or me short by denying yourself. We may or may not end up in a total commitment - but it's a start to somewhere. And a pleasant way to spend time waiting. All in all, it should be a great relationship if we can lean on each other when we need to - share the fun times and sad times, and keep the lines of communication flowing honestly. I know I haven't thought of everything, but if we have just these few attributes - the rest will come easily and we can conquer any negatives that life may toss our way.

Finally, my friend, if it ends - don't look back with regret. I won't - I feel my life has already been enriched by your presence in it and will continue to be *because* of it. Concentrate on the good times we had - and think of me as your friend still. I'll be around because I care about you - and I'll be happy for you when you find that special someone you've been searching for as I hope you will for me.

Can't help but notice my posting has created quite a ripple. Thanks for your comments people. I've always believed that a relationship is between the two people involved...the world might not understand or see the magic that's conjured...the sparks that ignite...but then again the world decides, the world always decides...

Final Arrival & Departure

It's 6.27 pm now and I'm not longer an employee of my workplace. Previous posting has been quite 'heated' up. :) Mac & KG seems to be 'enjoying' themselves...he he. Goes to show again that Men are from Mars and Women from Venus...battle of the SEXes...

Having mixed feelings with my leaving but no regrets...everything happens for a reason...hopefully greener pastures awaits me...the time off will probably be inviting after some time for me...FF said "Wish I could be as determined as you...."Sigh...as I've said before...there are some things I can do with simply no hesitation whatsoever, with a "Just Do it!' attitude...and some which I keep festering and rotting till kingdom come. Wish I had the same determination to do everything...make up my mind once and for all and live with it, for better or for worse.

In a way, it is a rather significant day/number for me today...hopefully it's a sign for better things to come. Feng Shui master I visited did say it was to be a good year for me compared to the year before that supposedly was to be worse. So far??? Not TOO good...predictions have been wrong...hhmm...maybe that's why they're called predictions. Asked an 'Incredible' friend today, "Do you believe that your life has been mapped out for you...that all is fated, that you're just living your life as set by the divine or that you determine your own destiny?". He said , "I believe and think it is a balance of both...". I thought it was a good answer. Always good to have a balance in everything...as too much of something is just not good. Either you start to take it for granted and don't appreciate it anymore or you'll find it too consuming, too suffocating, too choking.

I've packed my bags...I'm ready to go...but I'm still here...blogging, chatting on MSN and listening to my mp3s...and everyone's asking me, "Oi! Last day...what the heck are you still doing here?"..."I have a prior engagement and I'm killing time while wasting office resources?" Which reminds me I still have my Starbucks mug to wash. For now, the words of Sheryl Crow are humming in my head..."Everyday is a winding road...I get a little bit closer to feeling fine..."

A Woman's Worth...

In a brief conversation, a man asked a woman he was pursuing the question " What kind of man are you looking for?". She sat quietly for a moment before looking him in the eye and asking "Do you really want to know?" Reluctantly, he said "Yes."

She began to expound… "As a woman in this day and age, I am in a position to ask a man what he can do for me that I can’t do for myself. I pay my own bills. I take care of my household without the help of any man…or woman for that matter. I am in the position to ask, "What can you bring to the table?" The man looked at her. Clearly he thought that she was referring to money. She quickly corrected his thought and stated, "I am not referring to money. I need something more. I need a man who is striving for perfection in every aspect of life." He sat back in his chair, folded his arms, and asked her to explain.

She said "I am looking for someone who is striving for perfection mentally because I need conversation and mental stimulation. I don’t need a simple-minded man. I am looking for someone who is striving for perfection spiritually because I don’t need to be unequally yoked… believers mixed with unbelievers is a recipe for disaster. I need a man who is striving for perfection financially because I don’t need a financial burden. I am looking for someone who is sensitive enough to understand what I go through as a woman, but strong enough to keep me grounded. I am looking for someone who I can respect. In order to be submissive, I must respect him. I cannot be submissive to a man who isn’t taking care of his business. I have no problem being submissive…he just has to be worthy. God made woman to be a help mate for man. I can’t help a man if he can’t help himself."

When she finished her spill, she looked at him .

He sat there with a puzzled look on his face. He said, "You are asking a lot."

She replied, "I’m worth a lot."

Found the perfect answer to one of the most fundamental questions us girls will be asked more than once, more than twice, perhaps more than thrice at one point of our lives. Here's to hope...to all the ladies out there that one day you will find that Man of yours and he will tell you, you put the colours inside his world...no matter how much a maze you can be, where all the walls are continually changing...

Me and my bloody Saturday...

I'm one of those people who takes good care of their mobile...Try to maintain a scratchless surface, no dents and have consistently maintained a clean record of not dropping it. Just my inner critic that makes me a perfectionist sometimes...

Furthermore, have an inkling that I might suffer from a slight case of the OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). Felt some familiarity towards Jack Nicholson's character in As Good As It Gets, knew exactly what he was going through. There are some things which I just need to do when the opportunity strikes simply because if I don't, I won't feel good about it... and sometimes certain things even become a routine and perturbed is how I would feel if I skipped it, and in this instance of it happening, it would no doubt be beyond my control.

There was once I got down from my car during a red light stop to close the petrol lid of a Toyota which I spotted from around 3 - 4 cars away. Knew the timing of the lights as I used it everyday for work, and it was gonna go green soon but I just had to do it. The open lid just triggered a part of me and I knew that if I didn't do anything about it, I would feel uneasy and irritated. I unbuckled, ran to the car as fast as I could, shut the lid and dashed back. Just as I did, the lights changed almost instantly. My jello friend aka colleague who was in the car with me was like "Ookkayyy...couldn't you just let it be?" Seriously I couldn't...it would have bothered me silly for some time to come.

Back to my mobile...Well guess what??? I dropped it!!! I dropped it right smack on an uneven tar surface. There it went diving from mid air and landed face down splat! on the ground...I stood paused in the moment just looking at it, in the middle of the road. Hit the 'play' button as there was an oncoming car, picked it up and walked away from the scene of the so-called accident. Results from victim's post examination? External injuries - severe scarring from the impact of a high fall on the lower left side, moderate scarring on the top right hand corner, slightly indented joystick and loose keypads. Internal injuries - not found, so far so good...hopefully!...Sigh...there goes my almost perfect mobile...joining the ranks of the damaged colony...

Anyway, got over my mobile (for the time being) and was set for a fun night out at Poppy/Passion. Anyone who knows me well enough will know that I'm one who's not, and I mean so not into dresses, skirts (a self declared pants person) and high heels (max I'll go any given day is 1.5''). Somehow that night...just felt like being ladylike, perhaps my estrogen levels were high that day, and I saw the need to exert some femininity...hhmmm... whatever the reason was I slipped into a black dress with 2'' heels and as I was looking at myself in front of my mirror before heading out I said to myself, I'm comfortable, I feel good, I look alright, I can carry this off, I can...I can...

Yeah and CAN I did!...as in being careless...I missed a step, tripped, fell and embarassed myself right in front of Poppy just as I arrived! Another pause for the day as I just froze on bended knees, hanging by the moment until a Red Saviour lifted me up. Post examination for this fall? Scraped both my knees, one worse than the other, suffered bruises, cuts and was bleeding quite profusely. Managed to get some anticeptic (Thanks FF!) from the management to clean the wound (:) KG). Later on, and until now I started limping a little as I landed on the bony area of the knee and it hurt when applied pressure onto. The worst was whenever I got restless and did my Poppy/Passion to Passion/Poppy rounds cause the stairs were a killer! Sigh...so much for being ladylike is what I can say...sniff...maybe it's a sign...a sign that I'm not meant to be feminine...

So there you have it... my 'Falling Saturday'...adds to the list of my life's shenanigans and indeed there has been quite a few...which makes living more 'drama mama'...As my wounds heal slowly but surely...can't help but reiterate how ironic things can be...in my 10 years of clubbing, I have not thought 'pretty' and on that fateful day I decide to...I plunk in style...

Fingers crossed...that there won't be any scarring...if yes, my fate as a pants person will be sealed forever...sniff...

The Golden Age and The Fall

We lie between Angels and Apes...light and dark...heaven and hell.
Mortal, but more than mere animal,
we seek meaning where we can...
in religion, in science, in art, in each other, and ourselves.
Creatures of the sun, we see life and truth in the light...
...and death and mystery in the dark.

When the light vanishes, (for but only a moment) we are in terror.
Sometimes, what we feel, can only be felt on the border of...
truth and mystery, life and death, existence and oblivion.
In the wheel of life, from birth to death, we all come to know...
...of fate deemed inevitable...
...that we all grow old (in ways we cannot stop)
...that all of us end (from this there's no escape)
...one day (some day)
Death comes to all, we have but to wait.

Lacking patience, we fear what (if anything) ...lies beyond.
Vainly we personify the action hoping that when Thanatos finally comes...
that the Angel of Death will take us gently, as a friend.
For come she will, no matter...
how rich, how poor , how pure, how corrupt, how innocent, how guilty, how virtuous, how sensuous, how loving, how hateful, how fearful, how faithful, how hopeful ...we are.

We age.
Each day one step closer to that unknown appointment.
We get old.
Our youth falls from our frame like apples from a tree.
But we remember youth.
We see it in our children, our link to the future past our death.
And we grieve.
We grieve for things lost, for things never gained, for our mortality.
For we imagine (because we are all egos) that somehow, we are to blame.
And we imagine (because we are all creative) that life, that humanity as a whole, is just like us.
That once, in humanities youth, there too was a golden age.
That, like our youth, it too was in the past.
An age of splendour, an age of vitality and age when we could do no wrong.
Except...that by our own choice.
We questioned...and in doing so...became no longer the
chosen less than gods and mortal.
We are all fallen angels...waiting for our fate.

Some...fear that fate.
In death...they see the worse in themselves.
And an end...to opportunity.
In desperation they turn against their elders...as if killing age kills death as well.

Others take solace in the flesh....
(or vice as they perceive it)
...eagerly anticipating another embrace.
While some found the comfort in others.
Alone together, they consoled each other.
Company produced comfort.
And the ruins of the times looked less…menacing.
Some thought that to cheat death, they only had to cheat time, and made images of how, in death, they'd like to be...
Jeweled, noble, glittering…
While others commissioned works of art.
Recalling, at least to those that see, how they hoped to be in life.
Some hoped the painting would age, not them...
(but they were mistaken)
...for art dies too.
But time cheated us...
...and still we rotted, or turned to stone.

Still others...honoured the risk of death.
...made conquest and glory a game.
...and others believed them.
But they too passed.
Their monuments became curious ruins.
Targets for grafitti and birds.
In our desperation we petitioned our Lord.
... and other gods are fickle responding only to their whims.
Even The Goddess did not abolish the inevitable.
Rather, she allowed us some solice, and the promise of return.
Which we took, or left as we would.
And as Hecate, she watched o'er us at night.
So we studied death in case...
...or failed to.
And as we did, death continued on.
Some of us though, did not find horror in the inevitable.
Rather, the horror was mixed with...
...curiosity...fascination...and...lust?
The masses might wait in line for the final exit.
But we at least might slip away for some fun.
We determined to follow our passions...
...to where they would take us.

As always... not everyone approved.
All manner of vices were imagined about us.
Our excesses were viewed with suspicion.
(for everyone must play the game)
If we enjoyed ourselves, then we must be sinning.
(and they were afraid of their desires)
And if we were sinning,we might incite others to do so too.
(which must not be allowed)
Because our men dominated us...
...women were seen as the source of our temptation, of sin…
...and we believed our men.
Righteous in our hypocrisy...and because we were men (and therefore safe) or because we were jealous (and insecure) or we coverted their good fortune (for greed justifies itself) or wanted power (and power corrupts) or out of fear (and who does not fear?) or from boredom
...we denounced her.
And she (and those who supported her)
paid the price.
And we learnt... to hide, to deny ourselves to pretend to be one of them and to fear each other the other...the strange and the unfamiliar...
...and we learnt well.
Hiding from our enemies, some of us sought solice in the pursuit of science.
We looked for meaning, for the mechanics of being...
in the heavens above in the world around us in the forest of mathematical thought
...outside ourselves.
Science seemed so...empirical, real, precise, reliable, authoritative
...so promising.

We watched and waited patiently...
...for the results of our experiments.
But when they were in, we fled in horror at what we had done.
For we knew that when word got around...others would not be happy with us.
But it was all too late.
What we had created was impressive, yes...
...but what was the cost?
Did we control our wonderful machines,
Or did they control us?
We made ourselves onto robots,
just to make things easier for the machine...
...we walked with zombies, not in exotic climes, but every day to the factory.
And we created great cities, vast metropolises, human beehives of hope and despair but always of activity.

But with the machine came a way of looking at ourselves
that seemed all too real.
Now not only could we see ourselves
as we ought to be,
but also as we might be,
and better yet
as we could be.
(our dramas played out before our eyes)
The strange became the familiar, became the exotic...
...was copied...and the freak became attractive...
...indulged in fantasies, dressed the way we wished we could,
…were shown as heroes...moved in next door...and found true love.

When we looked at the world we saw that it was far more terrible than our worst fears.
We treated our children like pets.
We "ethnicly clensed" each other... the cleaners were
Guns, gas and ovens....and afterwards...
...we buried the remains with the rest of the trash.
Some of us did not take such a state of affairs lightly.
We objected as best we could.
It seemed as if the world had gone mad...
...but, it always has been.
It was hard to see beauty without seeing death nearby.
But we tried.
And still, the moon looked down on us.
...about life, and death, and all points in between.

And we in turn looked at Her.
And wondered....
And if we know anything at all...really know...(not just guess)
we keep our own counsel, and all that remains
...is our silence.

Found this amazing website where views and insights on life, desire, terror, angels etc are given with vivid illustration. I happen to have this fascination with anything gothic...anything deep, dark simply intrigues me.

Some might not enjoy the site as much as I did, probably find it complicating, a little twisted, perverse and morbid but as I always say...'Sharing is Caring' :)

Going Black & White: Alone or otherwise...

Caught the movie 'A Lot like Love' a week ago and loved the black and white close up shots of Ashton and Amanda. Just so natural and without frills...That's why I have decided. Gonna have a wall in my own home, dedicated and filled with shots like those in future. Hopefully with my other half...if not I shall go solo and look at me, myself and I...

My horoscope lately has been talking to me in a strange way...even a random tarot reading that I tried on MSN...hhmm...is the mystical realm trying to tell me something? Is it trying to lead me towards the direction I should be taking? I've not a clue, as things we read can be quite general. Therefore, a million Capricorns could be reading the same horoscope and feeling the same way as I am...but then again, it's up to each individual to either react or just act upon it. A hopeful quote that appeared on my Saturday's reading.

Think of all the beauty that is still around you and be happy...

A Memorial - where some find peace of mind...

"...we'll reach a certain point in our lives, look around and realise that all the things we said we'd do and become will never come to be - and that we're ordinary..."

- recently passed over, actress Anne Bancroft

I always try not to conform to the norm...do things differently...swaying slightly off from the usual...at least I can look back one day when my wrinkles have all sprouted, when I'm a vegetable of a form and tell myself..as cliche as it sounds... I did it my way? Last night I attended a memorial of a friend's aunt and thought to myself as testimonials were given, what will people say of me when I'm gone? Hhmm...strange as it seems, somehow I think my time on earth will not drag on for long...as in I don't think I will live to see my children's children...that is IF I ever do have kids and IF I ever tie the knot. I reckon I won't be smiling and cutting my birthday cake at the ripe old age of 65...probably be six feet underground by then...perhaps even earlier.

Had a near death experience 6 years ago. Fell into a coma for 3 days and when I finally woke up, I opened my eyes to a room filled with flowers of all sorts. It was simply beautiful...For a moment, I thought I died and gone to heaven. No, I did not see any light and if I did and can't remember, I guessed I must have walked away from it. Guess it was not my time yet...that February in 1999.

Fast forward to 2005, I'm going through a phase where words are not enough...To few won't sum up how I feel...too many's just too much and might conjure more emotions, causing more burden and uneasiness. I read all the signs and I saw the lost coming but I'm not ready for a goodbye....can't ask for more...and now I'm split in two...

Sigh, on this Friday, I hope everyone will find and discover their peace of mind before the end of their journey of life...so that you can tell yourself...I am satisfied, I'm living a contented existence and there's nothing more I want or need to fulfill a part of me to make me whole.

Have a good weekend people...

A lot like Love...

I lost something, somewhere, somehow, sometime last night. Perhaps if fate allows...if it's contained in the scrolls of destiny...if it's written in the stars, two will weave into a similar orbit again...as the present myriad of complications make it difficult for a union. It is indeed so hard to say goodbye to something that is untimely special...never seeing it grow, never venturing the possibilities and probabilities... all because the fear of losing is greater than the embrace of a new hope for a better tomorrow...

Wish I had the courage of a lion, the strength of a bull and the determination of an ant bestowed upon me…for the power of goodbye is the freedom of letting go…
For now, every little thing only time will tell :(
