Soaring...

... with the feathered one.
It's Eat With Your Family Day at the workplace so all employees have been granted an early release at 5pm today to make a date with their family. The objective is to set aside a day to remind, encourage and even persuade one another to spend quality time with loved ones (be it family, friends, partners, lovers, pets etc) through the simple ritual of sharing a meal.

Amen to this small blessing. It has been a l-o-n-g week at work. The circus is in town and will be around for the next few months. It could drag until the year end I reckon. *sigh* *sigh again*

Weekends will be extra precious now. And if things fall into place, December will bring two weeks of mini happies our way. *fingers and toes tightly crossed*

Mannequins...

I remember watching the movie when I was a little girl around the age of 10, I reckon. To me at that time, the female protagonist, Emmy was the most beautiful woman in the world. And today, I found out she was played by Kim 'Samantha Jones' Cattrall. Didn't strike me all these years until I wiki-ed it today.
Mannequins...
They come to life, and dance the night away, when the stores are closed.
And assume their dummy position, stationary once more, when the sun rises.

Been feeling like a fish...

...and procrastinating at work. Yes, like a fish. Staring at the world from inside my bowl. Comfortable in my own zone where people acknowledge me but I choose not to register them in my thoughts except for the one that brings me food. In the human sense, the one who is responsible for my shoes and bags affordability aka the boss. However, one can still be aggravated in this state of mind. Like it's a given. Emails you can't ignore and simply have to entertain. Sometimes I wish I have the ability to punch into the monitor. My hands, they will somehow travel through cyberspace to the irritating specimen's monitor and reach out. Reach out, shock, strangle and shake them silly.

Maybe I'll take the 162 and spend some dollars after work. Perhaps this crappy mood I'm in will disappear after some retail therapy at the orchard. Come to think about it, I do need to pick up that dress I had sent there for altering yonks ago. At least I won't have to figure out what to wear tomorrow. Unless Miss Alter assumed I died and sold it off for taking up unnecessary space. Went through my entire wardobe this morning and found nothing I wanted to put on. Shites, AI finale is tonight. Choices, choices. I'll decide after my three days in a row conference call is done. *grrrroooowl*

Definitely looking forward to the weekend. Will be visiting the museum for the Christian Lacroix The Costumier exhibition with a dear friend who will be down in the island to explore opportunities. Plus, B will be flying back and promised me triple Ss.

For now, it's back to spacing out, replying the damn emails in the most diplomatic manner (If I'm able to squeeze it out of myself) and looping Lily Allen's The Fear for the five thousand four hundred and seventy seventh time.
I want to be rich and I want lots of money
I don`t care about clever I don`t care about funny
I want loads of clothes and f***loads of diamonds
I heard people die while they are trying to find them

I`ll take my clothes off and it will be shameless
`Cuz everyone knows that`s how you get famous
I`ll look at the sun and I`ll look in the mirror
I`m on the right track yeah I`m on to a winner

I don`t know what`s right and what`s real anymore
I don`t know how I`m meant to feel anymore
When we think it will all become clear`
Cuz I`m being taken over by The Fear

Life`s about film stars and less about mothers
It`s all about fast cars and passing each other
But it doesn`t matter cause I`m packing plastic
And that`s what makes my life so f***ing fantastic

And I am a weapon of massive consumption
And its not my fault it`s how I`m program to function
I`ll look at the sun and I`ll look in the mirror
I`m on the right track yeah I`m on to a winner

I don`t know what`s right and what`s real anymore
I don`t know how I`m meant to feel anymore
When we think it will all become clear
`Cuz I`m being taken over by The Fear

Forget about guns and forget ammunition
Cause I`m killing them all on my own little mission
Now I`m not a saint but I`m not a sinner
Now everything is cool as long as I`m getting thinner

Delighted.

Kris is in the finals!

His rendition of Kanye's 'Heartless' was acoustic magic and earned him a spot next week.

I know Adam is the favourite to win but life in its consistency and monotonousness, sometimes unveil shocks and surprises when you least expect it. Who knows what might happen? Who knows.
Nevertheless, I wish them both good luck. They've come a long way, indeed.
I will be right at home, next Wednesday night.

Mellowed

I thought about the one that matters most and decided on being non-confrontational. Usually, this would not have been the case and those who know me well enough are aware of this. I have mellowed. 5 years down the road.

We can't control the emotions of others. Better let them feel just what they will. Therefore, I shall swallow. Let the issue digest. And breathe... deep breaths.

Anyhow, I've been flooded with future crap since the start of the work day and this bother will slowly eliminate itself from my priority list. I've managed the situation as of currently but I would not have addressed it from the same perspective as I had received it. However, this is just me. Everyone is entitled to their differences in actions and opinions, whether or not it's general consensus and this I hold in esteem.

At the end of the day, my reactions and objective is for the betterment of things in the whole. And my intentions, it comes from the heart. Truly. And sincerely. My white flag was waved, after all.

My 1st Red Leather Soles. I'm in Love.

The first half of my today has been somewhat g-o-o-d.

First, KT (my fabulous shoe shopper and maggi-mee buddy) called me from HK to say she's going to grab me a pair of Lou-Lou. I said alright. I'm in. Done. The girl knows my feet, taste and price tolerance level. I trust her. Because of this, I have not really gone shoe shopping this year. Seriously. She has bought me five pairs so far and no complains. I am a happy 'shoe' camper.

Then, I received a SMS from B that put a smile on my face. Thank you B :)

Later, an unexpected call from an unknown number that interrupted lunch but great news was conveyed by the person on the other end of the phone. It was a long shot but what a surprise!

I am jumping and prancing inside. Can't you tell?! The day can only get better. Am hoping the email I just sent out will welcome an extension of my happiness or be the bearer of hope for good things to come forth.

Pray. Breathe. Wait.
