It is still the weekend for me...

... but sooner or later Friday will come and it's back to the grind.
However, not before a quickie trip down south to meet up with two gentlemen.

I know why I'm going... It's hope.
I know why I'm having doubts... It's fear.

Nevertheless, I've got nothing to lose (except money, IF I end up shopping) and something to gain if things go my way.
So... what the heck, right?

127kms away...

I'm off to the historical town for the weekend for some good food and heaps of fun.
Can't remember the last time I was there but I remember who I was there with.

Some things in my life have changed for the better.
Nevertheless, I'm still the same ole' me, with hopes and dreams but without the ways and means.

Dum spiro, spero... (While I breathe, I hope...)

Mr. Manilow in Hellboy 2

You know I can't smile without you,
I can't smile without you,
I can't laugh
And I can't sing,
I'm findin' it hard to do anything.
You see, I feel sad when you're sad,
I feel glad when you're glad,
If you only knew what I'm going through,
I just can't smile without you.

There was a scene in Hellboy 2 that tickled me. Reminded me of the classic scene in My Best Friend's Wedding. For those of you who have not watched it, I shall not disclose further. However, if you have watched My Best Friend's Wedding, you would be able to put the pieces together. Oops :)
I thoroughly enjoyed the sequel and I must say movies of comic heroes this year have been exceeding my expectations, starting from Iron Man, Incredible Hulk and now Hellboy. Let's see if The Dark Knight will follow suit.
3 more days till the current chapter in the storybook of my career ends. My work space has been cleared and is as neat as the day I joined, files updated and personal stuff packed and stored in a box. My strategically located space has been booked by Mr. K (or Daddy K as I affectionately call him nowadays), so has my phone by my assistant, Princess B (mind you, not everyone has the same model I have) and my flat screen monitor (same case applies). Stationeries given to Grandma M (she is a mother to 8 pets, grandma to 1 and a pen addict), the hairdryer I won during an annual dinner lucky draw to my soon to be ex-new boss and premiums received from suppliers and agencies distributed to other colleagues.
After 2.5 years, I must say I have learned and grown professionally in many ways through the challenges and obstacles I've had to face in an organisation as unique as this. I hope the work I've done here will progress positively and continue to impact the industry, and I am sure I will/might cross paths again in future with the various people I've gotten acquainted with, likewise with those I rather have no comments of and from. It's a small world after all, ain't it?
The end of something, beckons the beginning of another... so here goes...

Feeling The Blues on a Friday...

"It used to feel like Heaven
It used to feel like May
I used to hear those violins playing heart strings like a symphony
Now they've gone away
Nobody wants to know the truth
Until their heart's broken
Don't you dare tell them
What you think to do
Till they get over
You can only learn these things
From experience
When you get older
I just wish that someone would have told me
Till it happens to you..."

Knowing or not knowing. The former or the latter?

I am a person who needs to know, even if the truth hurts. As cliche as it may sound, the truth will set you free and I believe it will. The truth will give you an ultimatum. A direction. A sign. However, sometimes, we're not given the priviledge to know which might leave us feeling encumbered, depending on how we choose to manage our emotions with the lack of knowledge we're presented with. This is why I always say ignorance is bliss, provided you NEVER find out. Hence, if I'm not given the option to choose, then I hope I never ever chance upon what was concealed from me in the first place.

This morning, I found the answer (well, sort of but it was enough for me) in RA's latest blog post. She had questions with no answers as well and read Classic Feynman: All the Adventures of a Curious Character over dinner as she needed to figure things out, that Feynman was THE master of figuring things out.

"I can live with doubt, uncertainty and not knowing. I think it is much more interesting to live not knowing than to have answers which might be wrong. I have approximate answers, and possible beliefs, and different degrees of certainty about different things, but I'm not absolutely sure of anything, and in many things I don't know anything about, such as whether it means anything to ask why we're here, and what the questions might mean. I might think about it a little, but if I can't figure it out, then I go on to something else. But I don't have to know the answer. I don't feel lost by not knowing things, by being lost in a mysterious universe without having any purpose, which is the way it really is, possibly. It doesn't frighten me" - from The Pleasures of Finding Out

My next book buy. Found.
