Miss Paradox

During my first year in uni, we were given an assignment. We had to create a portfolio of ourselves from our signature. When he was doing his rounds to see what we were up to, I remember my lecturer advising me to tone down on the complicatedness when he saw and did a rough analysis of what was on the dotted line.
I didn't. This is me. I'm fundamentally complicated in certain ways. My deepest, darkest thoughts are not spoken and shared with only He. However, and concurrently at the same time, the simplest of things can make me smile and create a warm fuzzy feeling in my heart: a soft toy I've kept for a decade, handwritten notes, McD's vanilla twist, a tight hug etc.
Looking forward to the extended weekend that I have planned out. Wonderful times are in store with family and friends. The thought of being back home in the peninsular is another thing that makes me smile, inside out :) There's gonna be fabulosity...
Now, to get through four days of work before I see the light at the end of the week.
May the good Lord continue to take care of you, my Daddy dearest.

To the 1st Man in My Life.

May God place you under his watchful eyes tomorrow. Keep you safe from all harm, and in his loving care. I love you Daddy...

Your daughter.

The Party of Our Lives.

The planning has started. The theme decided. Guest list prepared. The Pastor confirmed. Gowns and rings custom ordered. Ownership of heels seized. Venue and photographer booked. An almost complete bridal party.
Details, details, details. It's all about the details.
At times, I think everything's under control. It's been almost three months since he put a ring on it. Counting down, give and take, there's seven months more to the party of our lives and we have ticked off quite a lot of items according to majority. But there are days where I experience mild panic spells. Yes, mild. I used to plan events, it came with the job and I was good at it. I will be at the helm of things. Calm and collected. Behind the wheel. But when it comes to this very important event, the event of our lifetime, the usual composure is lost. Playing hide and seek with me. What's more, I'm fortunate enough to have someone else do the planning for once. I tell her what we are looking at, there's sharing of thoughts, we give our feedback and she will get things done.
In spite of having help by my side, my stress levels are at times double the dosage. Because, like a sponge, I absorb the stress he is not feeling. And he is just as he always is, together. Telling me to enjoy when I get highly strung. Enjoy the whole experience he says, the state of being engaged and the journey leading to the altar, to our nuptials.
He is right. And I've been doing better since. What a radiant bride. She looks beautiful. Glowing on the happiest day of her life. I hope I too will be a sight for sore eyes, when our day comes. Of which his response with an accompanying smile is, "Dear, you have nothing to worry about when it comes to that." Nevertheless, I have resumed my daily intake of evening primrose oil capsules as a precaution. Hhmm, I am considering investing in those bottled collagen drinks as well.
Fly safe and back to me... you know where I'll be :)

Blythe Dolls Fascination

Ain't she pretty?
Love her flowing hair, its colour and the highlights.
What's more, this Blythe is wearing a purple dress, and it's one of my preferred purple shades :)

A mini happie a day, keeps the glums away.

She said the magic words at the other end of the phone and it was all hush-hush. Suddenly, the day seemed better.

Domino effect of a mini happie. The rain stopped. The sun started shining again. A wonderful lunch followed by tea after. Bliss.

Saturday. The day to seize ownership of something that will still fit when everything in life doesn't. A bag will still match :). Having the girls around will be icing on the cake indeed, a fun time guaranteed but this won't be possible. However, and more importantly they will be there on that very special day when it is worn, and we will create dear memories together. Girlfriend memories to remember poignantly, and to cherish in our hearts for a lifetime to come.

.:Love ya lots dearies...you know who you are:) Come what may, as Samantha said, we are soulmates. BFF xoxo:.

The 666th Post.

When I was younger
I saw my daddy cry
And cursed at the wind
He broke his own heart
And I watched
As he tried to reassemble it
And my momma swore that
She would never let herself forget
And that was the day I promised
I'd never sing of love
If it does not exist
But darlin,
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
Maybe I know, somewhere
Deep in my soul
That love never lasts
And we've got to find other ways
To make it alone
Or keep a straight face
And I've always lived like this
Keeping a comfortable, distance
And up until now
I had sworn to myself that I was content
With loneliness
Cos none of it was ever worth the risk, but
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
I've got a tight grip on reality
But I can't
Let go of what's in front of me here
I know you're leaving
In the morning, when you wake up
Leave me with some proof it's not a dream
Ohh---
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
And I'm on my way to believing it
Oh, and I'm on my way to believing it
- Paramore 'The Only Exception'
There are exceptions in Life. Similarly, when it comes to Love. There is always that one person. Your Achilles heel.
You would do almost anything for him/her and no one else will have this advantage over you. Some might think you're foolish for the way you feel. While others say you make no sense in your endeavours, in the things you do for this person. The world as you know it, might not necessarily understand why the distance? Where as cliche as it sounds, no mountain is high enough, no river wide enough. This person might be simply wonderful (in this sense, external understanding is easier) or he/she could honestly be, a bitch/jerk and it's your choice at the end of the day.
Within the confines of your mind, there could be no reasoning. No justification. And if there is, only you will know the real answer to the riddle on everyone's mouth. To you, there is no conformity or rules that apply, no generalisation when it comes to this person. This person sits on a pedestal in your heart. This person is special in your eyes. This person is an exception.
To the world you may be one person, to one person you may be the world.
Beautiful it is, when two people are each other's exception. Unfortunately, there has to be balance in the universe and not all exceptions are requited. Well, c'est la vie... they say.
This song is for Popystarz... to whom I said, "There is always an exception." Perhaps to him, you are babe :)
