"Van Helsing Weather"... according to Popystarz

This will be the position maintained if I'm at home today. Tangled in my sheets and in a state of horizontal bliss.

Some people picked the right date to be on leave :P

On Standby

It will be a week before I am unemployed again.

Last Saturday was Operation Find-A-Pad and I am glad to say my search was not for long. I now have a place to stay. It is tastefully furnished, near the city and just four stops to work. Rent is very affordable and below what I budgeted for. What's more, amenities and food is everywhere. I definitely won't go hungry unless I get too lazy to eat. I even have a room with a purple wall. Fabulous. Thanks FF, owe you dinner as your agent fee *hugs*

Currently awaiting the documentation and legalities to be sorted out before a moving date is confirmed and my first day at work determined. I have decided to courier my shoes, clothes and bags down. Better than using a few luggage carriers and trying to fit it into a car. The first thing everyone asked me when I told them I'm abandoning country is, "How are you going to move your shoes?!". Easy. Just pack everything into a jumbo box and have it delivered right to the doorstep. Done. Plus, I won't be transporting everything in my cupboards. I'm going to work in one of the favourite cities of Shopaholics after all :)

As a gift to myself (we all find reasons to spoil ourselves, even for the boys), I put my name down for a Coffer after the success of Operation F.A.P. and am no.28 on the waiting list. That should give me enough time to fill up my piggy bank. But no.28! All good things come to those who wait, right?

On another note, while I was away my parents bought a house. Mind you, not a piece of furniture but a house. Before I could even put down my luggage, dad came into my room and said, "Guess what girl! We saw a house on Saturday and we bought it!". I was like, "What the... did you just say you bought a house?!".

The thing is, when it comes to my parents they're quick on making decisions and I should have not been surprised. I have come home many times to find a new car parked at the basement or woken up in the morning to find out they've gone off for a holiday without informing me. This, was the biggest surprise no doubt. I now have to move twice in the span of the next few months. *headache*

But all in all, it has been a good August. I shall count my blessings, not complain and think Coffer.

Mid-Week Feast

Mr. D decided to cook dinner for 10 of us yesterday.

AB said, "Great food, even better company and stupid jokes. What more can we ask for? :)"
I totally agree.
Yummy-yummy-yumm-yumm...

Not pictured: Strawberry Cake, Nutella Cake and Clam Spaghetti.

Everyone either skipped lunch or ate only 1/3 of their lunch portion today.

We were all still full... and hunger-free.

Parking Lot Drama

Your body lifeless... your legs dragging the sand beneath... your right feet shoe-less... your head hanging low like a wilted flower... you were unconscious.

You gave me a minor heart attack but the snapshot of you at that moment will remain etched in my mind forever.

We've been laughing about this for the past two days and it has not lost it's comical substance.

I reckon we'll still be laughing our heads off when we're old and wrinkly about that night :)
Babe, 'an yong pen'??? LOL.

Just X 3 Because...

Wanted to post something just because it's an auspicious day.
Traffic to work was easy breezy. I reckon a lot of couples took the day off to get registered. But ironically, it is the first day of the Hungry Ghost Festival apparently. Therefore, does this have any significance? Will it make today less auspicious than it ought to be?
Beats me.

This picture is just because Corrine Bailey Rae's Just Like a Star is in my head again and just because my new and soon-to-be ex colleague thinks I look like her (I differ).

Anyway, have a good weekend people. The 29th Olympics Opening Ceremony starts at 8.08pm. So drop work, pack up, say goodbye to your boss and head home in time to catch it live!

The next time in 2012, it'll be in London *thinking* and *count + 1,2, 3, 4 & gasp!* I'll be in my thirties. Well, early thirties to be exact (self pacifying). Hhmm... wonder where I'll be and what I'll be doing then. Is four years enough for me to walk across the bridge that links me back to sanity or will I still be struggling with the enemy within?

Again and again and again... every little thing only time will tell...

Some troubles we bring to ourselves. We conceive and we nurture it, until it becomes too much for us to handle, too painful for us to let go... and sometimes it takes a stranger, blunt as they may be in our face, for us to come into realisation with the things we've subconsciously always known.

A Wish Granted

I've been given an opportunity to do what I've always wanted to do...
A chance to work in one of my favourite cities.

I'm seizing this opportunity.

May this bring the answers, may this establish the balance, may this lift me from all the unnecessary worries that encumber my irregularly beating heart and perpetually restless mind.
