A Klomp For Me :)

Today is the boss' final working day in the island before he packs his bag and moves to a Nice place to assume an appointed new role. Together with this gift that he put in a brown envelope, there was a note and the last two sentences made me smile:

In case you ever go to Holland, I bought you these shoes so you can prepare yourself for the culture shock. With 20 pairs of shoes under your desk, no doubt you will have some space for these special ones as well. All the best.

After all that's said and done, he showed me what he was made of in the end, and I'm grateful for his courage. He tried, and for me, it's enough. As a team, we won some, lost some, and we laughed. The Klomp will have a special place indeed, right on my desk, above my other shoes.
