Unhide Ourselves. Come Undone.
"There's something you should know about me, Max. I'm very, very choosy... I'm also very, very suspicious; very, very irrational, and I have a very, very short temper. I'm also extremely jealous and slow to forgive. Just so you know..."
- the character Fanny Chenal in 'Ridley Scott's 'A Good Year'
You know how when two people start dating and they try to paint a pretty picture of themselves? For reasons to impress, to maintain the other party's interest.
I say we should exhibit ourselves, not only the good but the bad and the ugly as well and see if that someone is still up for the so-called challenge. This is likewise for them and for you to consider.
Not asking for people to hang their dirty laundry up front but put to the table your pet peeves and expectations after a certain period. After all, you should always be yourself right from the start. Why be someone you're not? You'll only be screwing yourself at the end of the day and perhaps disappoint. Again, it cuts both ways. And the last thing you need is skeletons emerging from the closet (if any).
Moreover, the person should almost know everything about you if you're gonna be involved with him/her.
I say almost because there are some things that only us and God will share exclusively.
