Neil Said...
Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it?
It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses. You build up a whole armor, for years, so nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life... You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' or 'how very perceptive' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a body-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. Nothing should be able to do that. Especially not love. I hate love. -Neil Gaiman
Simply horribly beautiful...I like :)

That sounds like a love gone bad. Do you stop yourself from loving once you experienced a love that hurts? Are all love bad? Love hurts... if you let it... Love also cures.
I'm an optimist. I ask, isn't love meant to be a wonderful thing?
Ideally yes,, when that moment happens. But more often than not, what "Neil said.." is true.
Jewel sang, "Same old story, nothing much to say, hearts are broken everyday".
Love IS meant to be wonderful but unfortunately we don't live in a perfect world. Not everyone is lucky to have a love that is theirs, one that is real and that lasts a lifetime.
One can't stop themselves from loving again, it will happen naturally when their heart wants to and when it becomes in sync with their head. That's when love will cure...
Nobody understands love. It is universal. Timeless. Yet, it is also very individual, filtered by our own lives and expectations.
I don't understand love, and I can't understand love, because it is a different thing for each of us.
Although, the greater the love, the greater the tragedy if it ever ends; those two elements always go together... this I can understand.
We all believe, if only because we must, that love can be found. Some of us, maybe most of us, have unfortunately discovered it can also be lost.
My 2cents:
Love will remain a complicated mystery if you let it be. How beautiful you want love to be and how you want to shape it... is entirely up to you.
Why wallow deeper, hurting yourself and possibly the ppl around you when you can experience the greatest love he/she can offer you? Love is always about taking second chances too.

- I second your thoughts babe.
Maybe the greatest of loves are destined to be shortlived on earth. Look at Romeo and Juliet.
Once some one told me "Love should be simple. If it is complicated, its not love". Pop Quiz? True or false?
The thing is, Life is simple, we make it complicated...
Love too can be simple, but we choose to complicate it when we follow our hearts and not our heads. With the world as our judge, we struggle to juggle and balance between what's right and wrong.
More often than not, Love has got to do with precision timing. Right person, at the right place at the right time.
"Neil said.." is sooooo true....
I believe that it's hard to find a simple love in the modern life nowadays. Not like the older older generation where they get along with someone from the start til the end and they still can be very happy with each other. Remind me of my grandparents
Yeah, the older generation stayed together through think and thin, through arranged marriages, through infidelities, through financial hardships, through it all.
But sometimes, someone pays a price.
Don't you think we have been thinking too much about ourselves. Love is not about you. When we choose to love someone, we do so with full awareness of the risk we are taking. And it's about us loving the other person notwithstanding what happens next. Whether it will go bad or good. That's love. Otherwise the word love is overrated because in the first place, love is not selfish. So what if we have to pay a price? It may not help us but someone will discover the value, more often not now but perhaps, in the later stage of life. We did good...we did good.
Life's too short to be complicated. Live it and live it with a bang!
