Never Say Never Never

So now we've got our independence
What are we gonna do with it?
Learning to play different games
Already using different names
Cause now our love bears no resemblance
To what we had before
When our love was good it was all that we saw
When our love was good it blinded us before
This real revolution baby
Where you're not below me anymore
Never never love can never be enough
Never be enough, just ain’t good enough
Never never love can never be enough
Never be enough, oh no...
So now we've got our independence
What are we gonna do with it?
Building the houses, claiming back the land
Burning the bridges, cleaning up your hands
Cause now our love bears no resemblance
To what we had before
Now our love has something for the future
Now our love will grow the seeds to sow this real revolution
This good revolution baby
Where you're not below me anymore
Had a Simply Red medley on Monday night. In the confines of home and in the comfort of the most wonderful place to be at the end of the day, the bed. Boy, they make good music. This song is on repeat mode currently.
The need for a short break is growing. It'll be jolly good to escape for the weekend and clear up the congestion brought on by work, that is starting to clog up the being. It does not matter where we go, the destination could be somewhere we've been before. I don't care and it won't bother me.
Ultimately, I.just.want.to.be.a.holidayer.and.breathe...

If a man wants you, nothing can keep him away.
If he doesn't want you, nothing can make him stay.
If you feel a man is stringing you along, he probably is.

The three lines above (which is part of 80 inspiring and strong wake-up lines) came to mind over dinner and drinks last night when a new friend shared her confusing, let's say friendship (which she is hoping would lead to a relationship) with someone who works in another city. She even bought a Blackberry to enable easier communication with him. However, she has not been getting positive signals and there are tell tale signs that indicate another person in the picture. The general consensus around the table was, she knows her place in the scheme of things but that's the problem with hope. Sometimes, it's like a feather. Carries no weight. But yet we still have faith in it. This is a human encumbrance and it's a double-edged sword. A strength that is also our weakness. The fact that we can so-called lie to ourselves determinedly and continue to, undeterred.
No doubt, we burst her bubble and told her it's best she be on her way. There was no dispute that he could be a nice guy but perhaps he's just not that into her. But who knows? He might show more interest when she retreats and the tables will turn. I realise and this comes from experience, that sometimes we need to hear what we already know, to assure ourselves and to confirm our instincts to be right (although they are rarely wrong) for us to gather enough courage. Courage and strength to take the first few difficult baby steps and march forth onwards. As always, things are often easier said than done. My standard answer to the unknown applies i.e. every little thing only time will tell. May she bring about good news to us in future, whether it comes in the form of him or otherwise. I wish her mini happies.
Back to my getaway thoughts...
Consolation is, there's only two more days before the long weekend starts. An additional day off IS an additional day off, to enjoy and welcome with open arms. After which Project Nest will kick start upon returning from the peninsular. Here's hoping we'll find a space that's almost perfect to our liking.
Life is... not too bad I'd say at this moment.
Never never love can never be enough
Never be enough, just ain’t good enough
Never never love can never be enough
Never be enough, oh no...
